1. Dine Under a Forest of Lamps!

teamLab is an international art collective known for hosting an art exhibition called "A Forest where Gods Live" every summer. This one particular piece of art, titled "Forest and Spiral of Resonating Lamps in the Forest - One Stroke", has attracted tons of people from all across Japan... and honestly, it's not hard to see why.

If you think it looks beautiful now, just wait until you try taking a picture with this forest of lamps as your backdrop. Another interesting point is that all the lamps flicker on when people come close to them, making for a rather fun game. This way, you can thoroughly customize what you want your Instagram picture to look like, no filters needed!

Even if you don't plan to stay overnight at this hotel, you can observe this piece of art from the cafe in the lobby, EN TEA HOUSE. Those with short attention spans, beware - this particular cafe also offers works of art in food form. Order a cup of tea and watch holograms of blooming flowers appear over it!

2. Ariel's Perfect Beach Day Desserts

Doesn't this pudding remind you of the sea and its sandy bottom? Well, the locals of Japan think so too, which is why they're all desperate to order one of these! Named the "Deep Sea Pudding", it has ramune-flavored, sea blue jelly on top of the actual pudding. The deeper you dig in, the better the taste!

If you're a big ramune lover, you'll be happy to know that they also have ramune-flavored soft serve ice-cream! If you prefer to have both the taste of pudding and ramune in ice-cream form, they have that sorted for you too.

Despite only having opened in July 13, 2018, this shop is already a big hit all over Japan. Be the first of your friends to try some!

3. Cats Fascinated by Cat Clocks

Get a kick out of confusing your cats with this cat-shaped clock! Handmade by Keitaro Fujii, this clock is widely acclaimed by cat lovers all across Japan for being cute, somewhat realistic, and for providing tons of entertainment.

Just watch those tails go! If your cat loves their pounce toys, they'll adore this clock. Just be careful not to place it where your cat can actually reach it.

The shop that sells these clocks, Craft Ogawa, also sells a plethora of other interesting animal-related items, such as the little figurines pictured above. Dog lovers can also join in on the fun, as they have dog-shaped clocks as well!

And that's that! The trends are always quickly changing, so there will always be something new from week to week. Check back in once a week and see if anything catches your eye!
