The New World, a restaurant listed in the Bib Gourmand for Michelin Guide Kyoto/Osaka 2023, is a pop-up restaurant with neon lights offering carefully selected snacks, obanzai (home cooking), and sake. It is a small izakaya (Japanese pub) where you can go alone, on a date, or after work without feeling overwhelmed. Since its opening, the restaurant has undergone a major renovation to make authentic Japanese cuisine more casual and enjoyable. For lunch, one type of bento box lunch is served. The restaurant focuses more on Japanese cuisine for dinner, as a pleasant small izakaya where you can enjoy small dishes and drinks.

The chirandori is imported directly from Kagoshima Prefecture every single day to be roasted over a charcoal flame. Everything we buy is reliably high-quality, from trusted vendors only. We are also quite particular about our domestic beef, Kagoshima kurobuta, and Satsuma "chirandori" chicken. The vegetables, easy to digest, as well as the high-quality, directly-sourced free-range meat, increases umami and makes the entire dish more delicious. Pay special attention to the volume of the food. There are seats that allow you to get a great view as you eat. Eating a firewood-cooked meal as you take in the panoramic view adds to the appeal of your meal. Great for outings with friends or family.

High-quality tender beef and crispy housemade bread, with flexible service tailored to customer needs

The fish of the day, which changes daily, is becoming more and more popular. The elegant taste of sole, for example, is brought to life by using its bones for broth and poaching (boiling) the meat, enclosing its deliciousness in the flesh. We use A5-ranked wagyu for our beef. Daisen Kuroushi beef, which we have put on our menu recently, is tender and bursts with flavor. You can enjoy the beef without a persistent taste. We make extra effort to use wheat flour from Italy in our bread and pasta, which are all made in-house. We knead the dough by adjusting the amount of water and salt according to the season and climate. We have two types of bread and take pride in their crispy texture. Our motto is "appropriate and flexible service for each table," which we achieve by conversing or keeping our distance during your meal as necessary, or by changing the place setting for our left-handed customers. For the 7,500JPY course dessert, we prepare a flambe at your table.
