Oita

Osteria Bucio

Loc Oita, Oita

Experience the mysterious allure of “OItalian” (Oita Italian), born of a fusion of strong impressions of Sicily with Ofuna ingredients

Located a 10-minute walk from JR Oita station. Osteria Bucio’s central dish is the “Spaghetti Cartoccio”. Our owner, who moved to Oita from the city after falling in love with Oita’s wealth of ingredients, first encountered this dish in Sicily during his studies in Italy. This dish, which made a huge impression on him, is made by taking pasta heaped with seafood, wrapping it in paper, and baking it in the oven. The flavor begins to change starting from the moment the paper is opened, and keeps changing minute by minute to give it a depth of flavor. In order to allow people to experience the taste, he uses fresh seafood caught in Oita to recreate the dish here, creating the genre of OItalian (Oita Italian). “Bucio” means “hole” in the Romanesco dialect. Take a peek in and experience a different side of Oita.

Ariran Beppu

Loc Beppu/Yufuin/Kokonoe, Oita

You can savor the original juicy texture of our delectable meat, prepared fresh after each order-our motto is "delicious and inexpensive"!

Using dried skipjack tuna and kelp, we take pains in making our broth so that as soon as you taste it, the delicate Japanese flavor wafts through, more so even than spiciness or tang. Enjoy it with our original noodles, made with buckwheat flour and certain to compete well with the broth. Our meat is from cows that are raised in a broad, open environment and given carefully-selected feed. They're raised naturally without stress. We season our meat simply so that you can savor its original springy texture and the sweetness of its fat. When preparing meat, we slice our cuts one by one after receiving your order. As essential as it is in preserving the meat's juicy freshness, we work to make you not wait, keeping in mind the allure of delicious food at the final moments of serving. In any case, we want you to dine here without strain. We serve our food with a motto of "delicious and inexpensive," and recommend that you try our fabulously-priced all-you-can-eat-and-drink course menu at least once.

Irifune

Loc Oita, Oita

Fully enjoy various dishes with carefully-selected eels from Kyushu with wine at our restaurant specializing in eel.

Our restaurant, specializing in eel from Kyushu, was named [Irifune] due to its location where two rivers joining together to make one stream, which is also called [Irifune] in Japanese. We stock high-quality eels mainly from Miyazaki, and Kagoshima and Oita. These exquisite eels are grilled crispy, then seasoned with our traditional sauce handed down from the first generation. The sauce applied on once and soaks deeply. This restaurant was renovated in 2009, and now has a more relaxing and calm atmosphere. The imposing one-piece table, that has been used since the restaurant was founded, with a heavy thickness gives you a sense of its history. A Japanese room in the corner of the restaurant is suited for a meal with 8-10 people. Our bento (lunch box) is suited for meetings or entertaining guests and is ideal to enjoy at home. Enjoy our eel dishes in a western style with a wine that goes well with eel.

Yakiniku Yokocho

Loc Oita, Oita

Pursuing the taste of Korea, from the flavors to the interior design! Enjoy authentic Korean yakiniku at a reasonable price.

[Yakiniku Yokocho] uses quality ingredients produced domestically. In particular, they buy the Kuroge Wagyu (a type of high-quality cattle) as a whole animal, so the innards offered at the restaurant are guaranteed to be fresh. It is delicious, even with simple seasoning, and the texture is tender. The secret sauce, born out of the pursuit of authentic Korean flavor, enhances the taste of the meat. This is the store owner's special flavor, which he has adapted to the Japanese taste. The authentic flavor isn't just contained in the sauce, and they also serve raw makkoli, a Korean alcoholic beverage which is hard to find in Japan. With its fresh and invigorating taste, it goes well with yakiniku. The interior is in a natural style based on the design of a Korean restaurant. It is equipped with private rooms that can accommodate up to 6 people, so it can be used for a wide variety of occasions, from casual drinking parties with friends, to work outings.
