Kushinobo Kyoto Station Branch

Kyoto Station/Minami-ku, Kyoto

Venerable kushiyaki place serving deep-fried seasonal ingredients in special batter.

Kushinobo is the established restaurant since 1950, specializing in deep fried kushiyaki dishes. Selected ingredients are fried in special batter with bread crumbs before serving. Although the golden brown deep-fried dishes look alike, they include fresh, creative delicacies like [Crab meat roll with Japanese whiting], [Shrimp wrapped with Japanese basil] that coax out the flavor of ingredients. One of our recommended menu is [Chef's choice of assorted kushiyaki]; chef dips the range of meat, seafoods and vegetables in the batter before deep-frying and served at the best timing. Diners can order and taste the freshly fried dishes as much as they wish. There are menus with pre-fixed number of kushiyaki, depending on the number of guests or events. As the location is next to Kyoto station, diners may order a glass of beer or shochu at ease to pair with our popular dishes.

Thoroughly enjoy the taste and flavor of the ingredient cooked with our traditional techniques, using a thin batter and original salt.

Our restaurant is located on a small alley branched from Hanamikoji-dori Street. We are specialized in tempura for 3 generations, including the current owner, Toshinori Sakakibara. This hideout-like restaurant was not well known before, however we have obtained more layers of fans since we won the stars, and is currently recognized as a dream restaurant among people inside and outside Japan. In spite that we have only counter seats, and serve only 1 menu at 12,000 JPY consisting of 17-18 dishes, many people visit us to enjoy our finest [Kyoboshi style] tempura which perfectly brings out the original taste and flavor of the ingredient. Please enjoy our dishes cooked by using traditional techniques, such as a batter without eggs, the original way to fry, and original powdery snow-like salt.

Rich tonkotsu ramen that stays true to its local Kyoto

We pride ourselves on carefully prepared local ingredients, which includes Kyoto's famous kujo scallions and local Kyoto pork for our roasted pork filet. On top of that, our noodles are made with domestic flour from Kyoto's Fushimi area and feature a medium-fine level of thickness to them. When it comes to our staple dish, our signature Tonkoku Ramen (rich pork broth ramen) is a flavorful ramen made from a thick white pork broth. Its rich soy sauce flavor is sure to become your new favorite. We also prepare kits for you to take home and enjoy. When you come to dine with us, the owner loves to welcome patrons and we make every effort to create an enjoyable atmosphere with delicious food. RISTORANTE Misato

Kyoto Station/Minami-ku, Kyoto

Smoked scallops served in the perfect location for a special anniversary or celebration for ultimate customer satisfaction.

This taste is representative of "Ristorante Misato" and has not changed since the restaurant opened. An original blend of three different types of wood chips are used to smoke the scallops. Enjoy the refined aroma and flavor. We grow them ourselves with seeds imported from Italy. They are a beautiful red shade with a depth to their flavor, and when they are cooked, their sweetness becomes even more pronounced. We adjust the ingredients or seasonings of the dishes to pair them beautifully with the wine the customer has on the table. We are always conscious of who customers have brought with them to the restaurant and why they have come. This is the perfect location for a special anniversary or celebration. Please contact us in advance to discuss your plans. We believe that going beyond customers' expectations leads to customer satisfaction.

Sushi Matsumoto

Kawaramachi/Kiyamachi/Pontocho (Downtown Kyoto), Kyoto

Our precise work without compromise has rooted traditional Tokyo-style sushi in the entertainment district of Gion.

[Sushi Matsumoto], hanging out a rakish white shop curtain with the word [sushi] in Chinese character, is located in Gion, an entertainment town with elegant stone pavements. The elegant but dignified appearance of the restaurant shows you the spirit of Edomae (Tokyo-style seafood cuisine). Daisuke Matsumoto, the owner was attracted to Kyoto and opened the restaurant here after improving his skill at [Sushi Shimizu] in Shimbashi, Tokyo. Now our restaurant has established the position as one of the most renowned restaurants known by all sushi lovers in Kyoto. Matsumoto selects high-quality seafood directly sent from Tsukiji or Akashi fish markets every morning, to serve the best dishes available that day. You can fully enjoy the essence of Edomae with our 2 different courses, [Omakase Nigiri (chef's choice)] and [Tsumami and Nigiri (small dishes and sushi)], where the best ingredients of the season are sublimated to the best sushi by careful work and various techniques such as boiling, lightly roasting, sprink

Taketori

Saiin/Katsura/Nagaokakyo, Kyoto

Enjoy a blissful time tasting "Nanatani Jidori," often called "phantom chicken," in an old private house.

Nanatani Jidori chicken is carefully raised at a poultry farm on the bank of the Nanatani River in Kameoka-shi, Kyoto. Taketori is a specialty restaurant operated directly by the farm company, where you can enjoy the delicious taste of Nanatani Jidori chicken. The chicken is raised free-range on a vast 3,000-square-meter plot of land, fed on pure water and high-quality feed that is completely chemical-free. The delicious taste of the chicken attracts people who have eaten it, and rumors of its deliciousness spread throughout the country. You can enjoy it from various excellent dishes such as "sashimi" and "grilled skewers" with fresh chicken slaughtered in the morning. The collagen-rich "Jidori Chicken Hot Pot," which can be enjoyed throughout the year, is especially popular among women. Wagokoro Izumi

Kawaramachi/Kiyamachi/Pontocho (Downtown Kyoto), Kyoto

The spirit of the owner is demonstrated by the "hidden cuts" he makes in the meat to make it easier to eat.

Our Japanese dishes are combinations of different dishes such as Kawachi duck with hidden cuts, or egg castella (sponge cake) that has been cooked in the oven for around 6 hours. We aim to produce dishes that have a flavor that appeals to older customers and children too. We travel and talk directly to the fishermen and farmers. By doing this, they understand the flavors that we require. Products that come from this kind of relationship include our dried skipjack from Makurazaki, the Kawachi duck that can be eaten raw, and Kuwana clams. Ours is a small restaurant so we make sure to put due care and attention into each meal we serve. We are always aiming to produce a flavor that is satisfying to both heart and body, and to create a menu through which the four seasons can be enjoyed. We want you to enjoy everything about Japanese food, including the dishes the food is served in and the decor of the restaurant. We have three completely private rooms where you can enjoy your meal almost without interruptions.

Ginnan

Kyoto Station/Minami-ku, Kyoto

Experience the popular Yuba Soba (dried tofu noodles).

Light, yet substantial. The shrimp and yuba broth brings out the flavor of the eggplant. Namafu (wheat starch) has a pleasant springy texture and is highly nutritious. Enjoy a range of namafu dishes, from the basics like namafu dengaku (namafu baked and coated with miso) or deep fried namafu, to original creations like eggplant and namafu miso gratin or namafu fried in breadcrumbs. Ginnan uses traditional ingredients, like yuba, which gives it the air of a classic Kyoto restaurant. However, the staff members work hard to make sure that young people also feel welcome. The menu features a substantial range of original creations, including yuba omelet and fresh spring rolls wrapped in yuba.

Gion Nishikawa

Kawaramachi/Kiyamachi/Pontocho (Downtown Kyoto), Kyoto

Come relax while you enjoy the freshest sashimi, Mount Ibuki rice, and other favorites that will leave you feeling reinvigorated and refreshed.

We use local ingredients like Akashi sea bream and Nushima conger eel. We also use carefully-selected seafood from all over Japan, including Tsushima tilefish, Nagasaki black abalone, Boshu clams, and Noto rosy sea bass. You can also enjoy the charming, seasonal flavor of Rishiri and Yura sea urchin. We are proud of serving the freshest seafood and vegetables. We visit the markets in Ohara every morning, and we get our Kamo eggplant and other Kyoto produce from reputable farms in the area. During winter, we offer traditional, old-fashioned suguki pickles made by Kamo farmers. In both chilled and warm dishes, we use special and gentle ingredients that make our guests feel relaxed. We are just thrilled to see our guests leave here feeling reinvigorated after a leisurely meal. Our rice is cultivated on the slopes of Mount Ibuki, in Shiga Prefecture. We polish our rice ourselves before using it. Boiling the grains in an earthenware pot in a high-heat stone oven makes them soft, fluffy, and sweet. Enjoy our except
