KATSUDON

Umeda/Kitashinchi, Osaka

Fully enjoy the taste of Naniwa, Osaka at our restaurant specialized in rice bowl with cutlet in an alley with an antique atmosphere of the Showa period.

[KATSUDON] is the old-established restaurant, where its main branch is located in Hozenji Yokocho, Naniwa. You can also fully enjoy the taste of Osaka in this branch in Umeda Sky Bldg. with the same antique atmosphere of the Showa period. Our No.1 recommendation is [Katsudon (rice bowl topped with cutlet)], very unusual from the other katsudon, cutlet and rice are served separately, with just cooked rice in a bowl and the cutlet in a very hot copper pot. Enjoy them separately, or topping the cutlet on the rice to enjoy the taste of rice absorbing the broth. You can fully enjoy different textures and tastes depending on your preferred way of eating. Melting and fluffy egg will stimulate your appetite. Enjoy eating katsudon in a space created in style of old Showa period. As we serve 10 different kinds of katsudon, you can select the one you feel like having that day. Once you experienced our Katsudon, you may find yourself coming back to us repeatedly! Enjoy comfortable restaurant serving tasty d

Honmachi Saryo

Nagoya, Aichi

An old-style tea house with classic Japanese charm and a photo-worthy menu.

This tea house makes use of a 100-year-old kominka (old Japanese house) that's registered as a cultural property and has the perfect atmosphere to match the small castle town of Inuyama. Sitting in the Japanese modern tea house, guests will feel like they've slipped back in time as they enjoy Inuyama's famous dengaku (grilled miso skewers), as well as sweets such as zenzai (sweet red bean paste) and shaved ice (summer-only). The food is not only delicious but also visually appealing, with a cute appearance that makes one feel happy just to look at it. Apparently, there are even some customers who travel from far away just to take pictures for their social media accounts. The owner, Mr. Kuze's efforts to boost the local economy extends to the tea house's use of local specialty products, including tea from Inuyama and locally-made pottery. This is a cozy spot loved by both travelers and locals alike.
