What is ecbo cloak?

Ecbo Cloak is a service that started in January 2017 as a sharing service that connects people who want to drop their luggage off and shops/restaurants that have space where people can safely store their luggage.

When tsunagu Japan first introduced this service in February 2017, the only area it was available in was Shibuya. Since then, however, the number of participating shops has risen, and in April they began services in Kyoto, followed by Osaka in May, and Fukuoka at the end of June. You can find and reserve space at shops where you can drop your luggage off all on your smartphone! It's a service that's quickly gaining attention.

What to do with your large luggage when you're sightseeing? What to know about coin lockers in each city

When you're traveling with large luggage, it's best to find somewhere  to leave it so you can enjoy sightseeing without burden, but it can be difficult. For example, about 380,000 tourists visit  Kyoto Station daily, but there are only around 200 coin lockers that can fit large suitcases. Other large cities are in a similar predicament. Even major areas like Shin-Osaka, Namba, and Shinsaibashi in Osaka only have 300 coin lockers for big suitcases each, and Hakata Station in Fukuoka only has around 180.

Even if you find the coin lockers, there's a high chance they won't be empty or your luggage is too big for it...

Some options other than coin lockers are finding a left luggage office, but those are few in number. Leaving them far from where you're planning on sightseeing or far away from your lodging means that you're wasting precious sightseeing time.

This is where ecbo cloak comes in.

You can make prior reservations with ecbo cloak. What kind of shops are available in Kyoto, Osaka, and Fukuoka?

Some of the shops participating in Kyoto include Magasinn Kyoto, Time Dou Café, and Gion Komachi, the kimono shop. Ecbo Cloak is a service where you can not just leave your luggage but also enjoy a traditional Kyoto atmosphere.
