10 Bars in Sapporo Where Even Solo Women Travelers Can Comfortably Enjoy a Drink

SUNTORY BAR 1999 welcomes single women. In addition to Suntory Whiskey, they also offer beer and cocktails. There are many female bartenders as well as many individual female patrons enjoying themselves here, thereby, creating an atmosphere beckoning its customers to stay awhile. The recommended appetizers are prosciutto and salads.

Bar evening is small and cozy, and has a traditional atmosphere from the past. Career bartenders from well established bars work here and serve phenomenal cocktails. It opens in the early evening, therefore, many female patrons drop by and wait for their friends or lovers. 3. STREET SHOT BAR LOWLAND

This bar is located on the 1st floor of a building in the center of Susukino, and has a welcoming atmosphere for fashionable and graceful women.  They offer more than 300 kinds of lively libations. The owner's collection of miniature bottles decorate the bar and it is easy to see his playful mind. This bar also lends itself to be a great meeting place.

4. BAR RHYTON

This bar is one rank higher and has the concept that "tangible items are of the highest quality." It comes highly recommended for those people who like spending time by themselves, while drinking well selected drinks in baccarat crystal glasses and eating food, and looking at the entire panoramic night view from behind the counter, and listening to the quiet soothing music over the special audio system.

5. SUNTORY BAR STYLISH D 

Stylish D is a piano bar, where you can enjoy Susukino's night view while drinking. How about spending your adult time listening to the live pianist? The drinks are superior and one drink in particular, called the "Frozen Almond" was awarded the No. 1 cocktail in a contest in Japan and comes highly recommended.

This bar's namesake is one of the oldest bridges in Florence, Italy, called Vecchio. Here, they strive to 'bridge' the customer and the special evening that can be enjoyed at this spot. It is a popular place where one can have delicious drinks and food. 7. BAR MADURO

Maduro is a Spanish word meaning maturity. 8. Bar Yamazaki

Bar Yamazaki is a famous, long established bar that had their 58th anniversary, and has patrons from all over the world. You can relax and enjoy your drinks while listening to pleasant tunes of soothing jazz in a superior atmosphere. Mr. Tatsuro Yamazaki, the owner, was born in 1920. He is a world-wide famous bartender and has taken over the "Tokyo Kaikan Style," which is presently passing on western liquor culture that existed before the war. People say there are so many bartenders that have trained in this bar and opened their own businesses all over the country. 9. deux ermitage

Deux ermitage is a French phrase meaning "a place after renouncing the world." This is a long established adult's secret hideaway type of place. You can enjoy superb cocktails made by the owner, Ms Nakata who has more than 30 years experience and formerly worked at Bar Yamazaki. Women can enter without hesitation because of the fact that the owner is a woman and most of the customers are also women.

10. Bar Proof

The owner, Mr. Nakagawa also previously worked at Bar Yamazaki and then opened this bar. This is a popular, bona fide bar because of their superior service, selection and expansive knowledge. Their traditional cocktails are very exclusive, but their cocktail called "Hard Winter," which brings to mind the image of a Hokkaido winter, as well as their Mojito, are highly recommended.
