1. Sushi no Yoshino

Sushi no Yoshino is a restaurant that serves sushi and other original cuisine. The place is open only to those with reservations, but it is a well-known fact that it is extremely difficult to make a reservation due to its popularity both inside and outside of Nagoya. The wooden interior has a very calm vibe to it, and both the sushi and original cuisine - made with fresh fish from adjacent seas, such as tuna from Tsukiji (the biggest fish market in Japan) - are delightful. Make sure to reserve in advance if you want to go here!

2. Sushi Hijikata

Inside the restaurant, there is an arched counter where you can watch the chef make sushi. There is only one thing on their menu, which is the "Chef's Special" (15,000 yen). Carefully selected ingredients from Tsukiji Market and adjacent seas are used here, which will surely satisfy you. This place is also difficult to reserve due to its popularity, so it is recommended to make a reservation well before your visit.

3. Koshino

You cannot talk about sushi in Nagoya without mentioning "Koshino". The sushi made using the chef's delicate technique and carefully selected ingredients are like works of art! The restaurant opens during the day as well, so it is a good idea to try it for lunch first. It is a famous and well-established sushi bar.

4. Hamagen

5. Tatsufumi Shiten

Tatsufumi Shiten is a sushi bar that is so popular that even regular customers have difficulty reserving a place! They only serve course dishes, and you can have tiger pufferfish throughout the year. The sushi they make here with choice fresh fish is so delicious that you will want to come back again and again! It is a well-known sushi bar that has been loved by a lot of people for a very long time.

6. Okei Sushi - Hongo Branch

Okei Sushi (Hongo Branch) is a sushi bar where you can enjoy great meals that use carefully chosen salt. The sushi rice made with red vinegar is another distinctive feature of this place. Yasushi is a small sushi bar with just 6 counter seats. This bar is also so popular that it is very difficult to reserve a place, even for regular customers. The Chef's Special Course is the only meal here, but you can enjoy sushi of the highest quality, along with the chef's hospitality, for around 10,000 yen. It is a must-try when you are visiting Nagoya!

8. Hide

Hide is a popular sushi bar that only opens lunch and dinner for those with reservations. Here, you can enjoy both great sushi and alcohol, as they serve a lot of drinks - like champagne and wine - that go well with sushi. 10. Amaki

Amaki is a new and fresh sushi bar that opened in 2015. The only menu item served here is the Chef's Special Course. They have a variety of sake and wine to enjoy with the sushi. The sushi made with local fresh fish and sushi rice that uses 2 different vinegars is so delicious!

Established over 65 years ago, Koraku has been loved by so many people for being a great sushi bar.
