11 Best Cheap Lunch Restaurants Near Tokyo Station

Bustling with workers, tourists, and shoppers, the area around Tokyo Station is one of the busiest districts in the city. It is also home to numerous restaurants ready to feed these busybodies, with options ranging from Japanese cuisine to Western and more. 1. Alps (アルプス)

Alps is a curry shop. The chicken katsu curry in the picture is 550 yen and a great value for money with delicious spicy curry sauce. Other curry dishes on menu are also around 500 yen. There is a limited time offer with further discounts after 3pm so you may want to make the most of it by getting there for a late lunch.

2. Otakou Honten (お多幸 本店)

Otakou serves tasty oden. The dish in the above picture is called Toumeshi, a rice with cooked tofu and a generous amount of oden broth poured on top.  Its price is 670 yen so it's slightly above the 5-dollar pricing range but because it's so delicious you would agree it is worth a try and a money well spent.

3.  Little Koiwai (リトル小岩井)

This a shop serving delicious Japanese style pasta. The above picture is Japone (560 yen) seasoned with aromatic garlic and soy sauce.  The shop is extremely popular among businessmen in the area with many of them taking out the pasta at lunchtime.

4. Torikan (とり貫)

Torikan specializes in chicken dishes. It offers lunch buffet at a very reasonable price of 600 yen. You can top as many chicken karaage as you like on a bowl of rice.  Naturally the place is extremely popular during lunch hours so be sure to get there early.

5. Yakispa Romaken (焼きスパ ローマ軒)

Yaki Spaghetti (Grilled Spaghetti) is the signature dish at this restaurant.  Japanese style pasta and spaghetti cooked on a griddle are also good. The standard dish of the above pictured 'Japonaise' is 510 yen with a grilled sausage for an extra 100 yen.   It is quite a substantial dish and makes you full.

6. Point et Ligne (ポワン・エ・リーニュ)

This is a bakery shop, kneading to baking the dough from scratch on site. The freshness of breads is therefore unbeatable. Flavorsome baguette sandwiches are around 500 to 600 yen.  You can enjoy them in the stylish eating area.

7. Tsukiji Gindako Highball Sakaba Yaesu Chikagai Ten (築地銀だこ ハイボール酒場 八重洲地下街店)

This is part of a chain of Takoyaki shops, aka octopus balls.  This particular shop is a standing bar serving takoyaki and alcohol drinks. 8 large succulent takoyaki comes at 500 yen, which is more than enough to make you stuffed. Just do be careful as they are piping hot.

8. Uoriki Kaisenzushi Otemachi Ten (魚力海鮮寿司 大手町店)

Uoriki is a seafood restaurant. There are a variety of rice bowls on menu for the 500 yen lunch deal. The above pictured Kaisendon are topped with slices of fresh seasonal sashimi which depends on the catch of the day.

9. Aburasoba Senmonten Yamatoten Tokyo Square Garden Ten (油ソバ専門店 山ト天 東京スクエアガーデン店)

This eatery serves Aburasoba, a dish of noodle served without broth and eaten with toppings and gravy.  The above pictured soy-sauce based aburasoba is 600 yen. It is not too overpowering in taste and rather refreshing.

10. Kabuki Honten (かぶき本店)

This restaurant specializes in sardines, however, wide range of set meals are on offer at lunchtime such as ginger-fried pork and salted grilled mackerels at 500 yen. The above picture is a tasty, hearty dish of chicken katsu with tomato sauce, which is also served as part of set meal deals.

11. Yudetaro (ゆで太郎 日本橋本石町店)

This is a standing bar-style soba shop. It is popular among busy businessmen who come here to slurp good reasonable soba in a hurry. The above picture is Tentama Soba (470 yen). There are many other menus on offer at less than 500 yen. There is always a long waiting line of customers between noon and 1pm so do try and avoid this timeslot.
