Traveling with Enoden : These are the stations that you must stop by!

The Enoshima Electric Railway or Enoden (江ノ電) is one of the most iconic local trains in Japan, it connects Fujisawa and Kamakura and there are many interesting sightseeing spots along the line. Let me show you which station to stop for amazing view or secret spot!

"Noriorikun" 1 Day Pass

You can hop on and hop off any station of Enoden line for unlimited time within the same day with "Noriorikun" 1 Day Pass.
This train pass can be purchased from any Enoden station and it cost ¥600 for adult and ¥300 for children. While traveling from Fujisawa to Kamakura station (the start & end point of Enoden line) costs ¥300 for one way (600 JPY for return trip), getting the pass is definitely a good deal, plus you don\'t need to queue up to buy ticket again during the same day!









With the "Noriorikun" train pass, you can also get discount at some partner shops or restaurants by showing the train pass. Remember to get a brochure to check for the discount details.

Enoshima Station

There are many cute shops around the Enoshima station. If you have time, take a bus or walk into the island.





Enoshima island is a place that you can stay for one whole day if time allows! Visit Enoshima Shrine, enjoy beautiful view from the Enoshima Sea Candle (lighthouse), taste some fresh seafood or delicious street food, shop for souvenir, or enjoy hot spring on the island.





There\'s a Hello Kitty Japanese Tea House on Enoshima island. Try some "kawaii" Hello Kitty Japanese dessert, buy limited edition merchandise from the store!





Kamakurakokomae Station

If you are Japanese manga or anime fans, you must have known about "Slam Dunk". This is a station that you must go if you like "Slam Dunk"! The junction nearby Kamakurakokomae Station had appeared in the opening of "Slam Dunk" anime, it is a popular spot to take picture of Enoden passing by.

Shichirigahama Station

You can enjoy beautiful sea view from the inside of Enoden when the train passby Koshigoe station to Inamuragasaki station. If you love sea view, I would recommend you to get off at Shichirigahama Station as there at are many nice sea view restaurant around the station.





Moana Makai is a seaview restaurant which serves really good Japanese curry rice. You can even buy their instant curry pack from the shop if you love their curry.

Inamuragasaki Station

This is my secret spot! There is a park nearby Inamuragasaki Station where you can see Enoshima and Fujisan appearing in the same frame when the weather is good!





Cafe Yoridokoro

There is a cute cafe located right beside the Enoden railway and it\'s nearby Inamuragasaki station. If you take the window or outdoor seats, you will be able to see Enoden passing by really close while having your drinks or meal here. Their signature menu is Japanese all time favourite breakfast item, TKG (Tamago Kake Gohan).





Hase Station

There are two famous buddhist temples nearby Hase Station. Hasedera is famous for the Hase-kannon statue which is one of the largest wooden statue in Japan, and its beautiful garden which shows different colours during different season. Inside Hasedera there\'s a hilltop that you can have a full glance of Kamakura city and sea view.





During certain period such as the maple season in autumn, you can even visit Hasedera at night for their special lights up event.

Great Buddha of Kamakura

When you come to Kamakura, one of the must see is the Great Buddha (Daibutsu) of Kamakura. It is the second largest buddha statue in Japan. Other than admiring the bronze statue from the outside, you can actually visit the inside of the statue.





Kamakura Station

Of course you must stop at Kamakura station for sightseeing! Here is the place where you can find everything you love about Japan: historical shrine, shopping street, street food, cute cafes, souvenir shops, and many more.





You will not miss the Donguri Republic if you are entering the Kamakura Komachi Dori shopping street, it is right at the entrance of the street. Donguri Republic has 2 floors of official Studio Ghibli merchandises for you to shop!





There are many interesting cafes, shops and street food along Kamakura Komachi Dori shopping street. You can even find dog, cat and owl cafes here.

Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu

After shopping and eating along Kamakura Komachi Dori shopping street, walk a little bit and you will reach at the entrance of Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu. This is the most important shinto shrine in Kamakura. It is famous for hanami (cherry blossom viewing) during spring too!





I just moved to Fujisawa in November 2018 and Enoden became the train service that I used the most! There are so many interesting things to see along the Enoden line, I will keep exploring and share it with you guys!
