Easy Access to Blissful Relaxation! 4 Super Sento Baths in Osaka

Super Sento baths are relaxation facilities that evolved from the traditional Japanese way of bathing that has been practiced since ancient times. They have a wide range of facilities that range from a variety of different bathtubs to spaces to relax in after bathing, as well as restaurants and esthetic salons! Here are four Super Sento that are particularly popular in Osaka!

1. Kuramae Onsen Sarasanoyu

This onsen spa is 10 minutes on foot from JR Sakaishi Station. It is a super sento where you can enjoy constantly flowing natural onsen water direct from the source. The water that springs from 1,350m below ground is a sodium chloride onsen that has been recognized as a healing hot spring (hot springs that can be utilized for medical treatment). It is light to the touch with high moisturizing and warming benefits. The spa has a variety of baths, including the Gensen Iwaburo (an open-air bath where you can enjoy the water from the source), as well a Silk Bath with superfine air bubbles and a Nano Carbonated Bath with carbon dioxide. The spa also has Sasajubo, a unique hot-rock facility that adopts color therapy (500 JPY/adult (incl. tax) *Bathing fee is separate.)

2. Nobeha-no-Yu Tsuruhashi

Nobeha-no-Yu Tsuruhashi is 5 minutes on foot from JR Tsuruhashi Station. This is a facility that merges Japanese and Korean bathing cultures. In addition to an open-air bath with constantly flowing water direct from the source, there are four types of saunas: A steam sauna, salt sauna, löyly (a sauna where steam is created by pouring water on hot stones, and Yakuseki Steam Room (Korean-style sauna that you enter dressed (1,050 JPY/adult (incl. tax) *Separate bathing fee)). The Kansai area\'s largest private family bath (starts from 3,800 JPY (incl. tax) for 1 room/hour) is also recommended. There are 11 rooms, and each have an open-air bath with constantly flowing onsen (hot spring) water and a room with antique furniture. Reservations can be made in advance.

3. Kamikata Onsen Ikkyu

This is an onsen (hot spring) with shuttle services from Nishikujo Station on the JR and Hanshin lines, as well as from hotels around the popular theme park, Universal Studios Japan. It is a super sento where you can heal your tired body with constantly flowing natural hot spring water direct from the source. The onsen water is a "simple” hot spring that has a good balance of a variety of components. It is known for its beneficial effects on the skin. The baths include inside baths and one of Kansai region\'s largest open-air baths, as well as Taru-buro (barrel baths) and Toki-buro (private ceramic baths). The superfine particle mist sauna that will warm you from the core is also recommended.

4. Naniwano-yu

The natural hot spring, Naniwano-yu, is located 8 minutes on foot from Tenjinbashisuji 6-chome Station on the subway. It is in a great location close to Umeda in central Osaka. The liberating open-air area is a recommended area that reminds one of an Asian resort. You can especially enjoy water that is 100% direct from the source, which is a geological stratum in the Gensenburo that is 1.5 million years old. The onsen (hot spring) water is has sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate, which makes the skin soft and smooth. All the baths, showers, and faucets other than the cold bath have onsen water with iron and manganese removed. There is also a women\'s only ganbanyoku (hot rock) facility (600 JPY).

Bathing fees: 800 JPY/adult, 400 JPY/child, 150 JPY/infant

Each facility has its unique characteristics, such as great onsen (hot springs) or a wide selection of saunas. None of them have overnight accommodations, but they do have enough facilities to enjoy a full day. They offer towels and other amenities for purchase or rent.
