Convenient to Know! Five Select Facilities and Services around Osaka and Umeda Stations

It's common to have little "oh shoot!" moments when traveling, such as having too much luggage, or needing to change currency. Here are convenient services to utilize in such situations! This information is regarding Osaka Station and Umeda Station for people who want to enjoy their trip to Osaka trouble-free.

1. Tourist Service Center

There is a service center for foreign visitors, the Tourist Service Center, on the 3rd floor North-South Bridge in JR Osaka Station. In addition to providing information (in English, Chinese, and Korean) regarding Osaka Station City and the surrounding areas, it also has luggage courier services (for a fee). It offers same-day delivery of luggage to hotels in Osaka and to Kansai International Airport, as well as overseas courier services, so you can send off your heavy luggage to travel and see the sights without them! It also has an ATM for Seven Bank.





2. Coin-operated Lockers

Luggage inevitably gets cumbersome, so you can leave them in coin-operated lockers. There are many coin-operated lockers around Osaka Station and Umeda Station, but the largest number is in the east-west passage (outside the ticket gates) from the Central Gate to Midosuji Gate of JR Osaka Station. There are four sizes: small (300 JPY), medium (400 JPY), large (600 JPY), and extra-large (800 JPY). There are also some inside the gates, in the foyer between the first and second floors, and on the third floor, so you can leave your baggage without exiting the gate.





3. Baggage Room

When you can\'t find an open coin-operated locker or have large bags to leave, go to the Baggage Room. It is located next to Nippon Travel Agency TiS Osaka Sales Office on the first floor of JR Osaka Station. The fee to leave your bag there is 700 JPY per item per day. It is open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, so be careful if you plan to go sightseeing into the evening.

4. Currency Exchange

If you need to change your money into Japanese yen, just go to the Travelex TiS Osaka Store within Nippon Travel Agency TiS Osaka Sales Office on the first floor of JR Osaka Station. They handle 33 currencies. In addition, 19 currencies can be exchanged at the World Currency Shop on the B2 floor of the big box home appliance retailer, Yodobashi Camera. There are several other banks and specialty stores that offer currency exchange services. Also, if you have an ATM card, credit card, or debit card that can be used at Seven Bank ATMs that can be found in 7-Eleven stores, stations, and shopping centers, you can withdraw Japanese yen.

5. Electricity Outlets

When you run out of battery on your personal computer or smartphone, go to a cafe with access to electricity outlets. CAFE Lab on the first floor of Grand Front Osaka North Building has 34 electricity outlets for customers to use freely. You can also ask a staff person for the password to access the Wi-Fi. There are also outlets at Tully\'s Coffee on the same floor as CAFE Lab. There is also a Tully\'s Coffee with outlets on the 15th floor of the Umeda Hankyu Building.
