1. Takoyaki golf balls

The first item on the list is something that looks exactly like Osaka’s specialty takoyaki (octopus dumplings), but is actually a golf ball. It is a very popular item thanks to its uniqueness as it also comes with a toothpick-type tee that will make you unintentionally skewer it to eat!
This item was developed by Yoshimoto Kogyo, an agency often called the house of Japan’s comedy scene that produces a lot of funny artists. It was developed jointly with a company that is dedicated to golf supplies, so the feeling of hitting the ball, achievable distance, and other properties of this item are formidable!

It is priced at 1,200 JPY (excl. tax) for two pieces and 3,600 JPY (excl. tax) for six pieces. This souvenir is available at stores that are directly run by Yoshimoto Kogyo.

2. Takoyaki-flavored Ramune

Next on the list is Ramune (a type of soda) made with one of the most representative flavors of Osaka: takoyaki.
Ramune, which generally refers to carbonated sweet soda water, is an extremely popular staple drink for Japanese people, especially the children. This item is a Ramune drink, but it reproduces the combined flavors of sauce and ginger, which are some of the characteristics of takoyaki.
Is it good? Does it taste bad? The takoyaki-flavored Ramune has been receiving mixed reviews. But one of the things to look forward to when drinking this Ramune is finding out if it really tastes like grilled octopus.

Priced at 130 JPY (incl. tax) per bottle, this Ramune can be purchased from Naniwa Meibutsu Ichibirian - Dotonbori Shop and other souvenir shops around Dotonbori and Tsutenkaku.

3. Kushikatsu cake

Aside from takoyaki, kushikatsu is also a famous Osaka specialty. The next item on the list looks like kushikatsu (fried skewers), so you\'ll be surprised to find out that it is a dessert! The kushikatsu cake is full of surprises!
Crushed cake bits are put on top of a cake that has been coated in chocolate. Instead of sauce, the accompanying chocolate is spread on top, thereby making it look like the real kushikatsu. If you try it, your mouth will be filled with the sweet and delicious taste of chocolate cake.

This item is priced at 780 JPY (incl. tax) for 10 pieces. It can be purchased from souvenir shops around Tsutenkaku and Dotonbori such as Kokomo Yotteya Osaka Shinsekai Shop.

4. Kuidaore Taro Pudding

The final item on the list is Kuidaore Taro Pudding. Kuidaore Taro is the mascot of the well-established restaurant Kuidaore that used to be in Dotonbori in Osaka. This somewhat charming mascot that represents Osaka has continued to be loved by people for nearly 70 years.
This is the pudding that is designed based on Kuidaore Taro. It is an extremely famous souvenir. This item is a masterpiece pudding with a rich crème brulee flavor that is eaten with a double sauce that combines sweet caramel sauce and crushed bitter caramel.
The packaging is also very imaginative! The stories of “Taro is worried because he lost his hat” and “Taro is happy for finding the hat inside a box after searching it together with the children” are expressed in cute illustrations and packaging. This is a fun item that has many hidden surprises from the time you pick it up until you finish it.

This item is priced at 1,150 JPY (incl. tax) for three pieces. You can buy it from the souvenir shop at the 1st floor of Nakaza Kuidaore Building in Dotonbori.

These items will surely put a smile to those who give them and those who receive them, so try to buy them!
