Kerama Islands

The Kerama Islands (慶良間諸島) are a group of 22 islands in Okinawa. Four of the islands are inhabited; Tokashiki Island, Zamami Island, Aka Island, and Geruma Island. Kerama Islands are well-known as the best place for whale watching in Japan, and it is also popular for scuba divers.
The color of the ocean there is called “Kerama Blue”.

Whale watching

Whales come to Kerama Islands to give birth and raise their children.

Whales jump, blow, do head slapping, caudal fin slapping and pectoral fin slapping.
It’s a fantastic natural show!

More than 98% of people who go on whale watching cruises see whales.
And is you are in those unlucky 2%, you will receive a full refund of the price of your trip (I’m not sure if all the tours give a full refund but most of them do).

There are many whale tours, and there are cruises departing from defferent ports, Naha, Itoman, Chatan and other places. So you can find the most convenient one for you!
