The Inland Sea, SETOUCHI Tourism Authority is now accepting submissions of your memories of Setouchi.

For one week, starting from early March 2021, all user submissions will be shared with people in the US, the UK, France, and Germany. We ask for all entries to be made in English.

* The area is made up of Hyogo, Okayama, Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, Tokushima, Kagawa, and Ehime Prefectures.

How to Apply

1. Eligibility

Foreign residents of Japan who have experience living in or traveling around the Setouchi region.*

* For the purposes of this campaign, Setouchi refers to Hyogo, Okayama, Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, Tokushima, Kagawa, and Ehime Prefectures.

 

2. How to Apply

(2) Please write about your real experiences in Setouchi, and submit them together with pictures and videos in English.

*Please make sure that your Facebook or Instagram post is fully viewable to the public.

* For one week, starting from early March 2021, all user submissions will be used in a promotional campaign in the US, the UK, France, and Germany, using the hashtag #NewEraSetouchi. Your entry will be visible by the people in your country, so please keep in mind the size of the audience when you make your submission.

 

3. Terms and Conditions

  • Please only submit photos and videos that you have taken yourself at Setouchi and to which you own all the rights. This includes copyrights and the rights to the images of all the people and objects featured in the photos and videos.
  • One person can submit as many entries as they please. However, even with multiple entries, one person can only get one prize.

 

4. Choosing the Winners

  • The winners will be chosen via a lottery. If you win, you will be contacted on Facebook or via an Instagram direct message.

* Please make sure that you can receive and open messages from The Inland Sea, SETOUCHI Tourism Authority.

 

5. Prizes

  • 10 chosen winners will each receive an Amazon Gift Card worth 10,000 yen.

* The Amazon Gift Card prizes are only redeemable at Amazon Japan (Amazon.co.jp). You will be provided a link to a website explaining how to use the card in either English, Japanese, or Chinese.

Announcing the Winners and Sending Out Prizes

The contest winners will be contacted about the results of the lottery via Facebook or Instagram direct message. Please complete all the procedures for claiming your prize (which will be explained in the message) within one week of receiving the message.
* Please make sure that you can receive and open messages from The Inland Sea, SETOUCHI Tourism Authority.

If a winner does not complete the necessary procedures within the specified timeframe, they will forfeit their claim to the prize and will not be able to receive it in the future.

It is forbidden to transfer or sell the prizes won in the contest to third parties.

The winners should be notified around mid-March 2021.

The Inland Sea, SETOUCHI Tourism Authority and West Japan Marketing Communications will contact the winners via Facebook or Instagram direct message. All private data gathered during the course of the campaign will be stored for as long as necessary to run the campaign, after which it will be deleted. Additionally, the contest organizers will protect all obtained and managed data by observing any and all applicable laws as well as employing the most appropriate protection protocols (such as a data protection policy or agreed-upon standard data protection provisions).

Important Information

The campaign organizer and coordinator will not get involved or be held liable for any trouble, legal or financial, related to a third party’s right to publicity, personality rights, or copyright infringement.

The Inland Sea, SETOUCHI Tourism Authority is the campaign organizer. West Japan Marketing Communications is the coordinator. For inquiries about the campaign, please send a direct message to The Inland Sea, SETOUCHI Tourism Authority on their official social media account. You should get a reply within three business days. Please note that the response may take longer if it overlaps with non-working days like Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays.

Excluding instances of intentional malfeasance or negligence, the campaign organizer and coordinator do not take responsibility for any problems relating to a participant’s campaign submissions.

The campaign organizer and coordinator will also not be held liable for any campaign-related intellectual property damages suffered by a participant or a third party.

All communication and network expenses shall be borne by the individual campaign participant.

The campaign organizer and coordinator will not be held liable for any losses related to equipment malfunction or network trouble suffered by participants during the course of the campaign.
