In February 2003, Kappo [Kurikichi] was opened in a renovated Japanese house located next to the annex building of a hotel. It was reborn as Japanese Cuisine [Kurikichi] at the same time as the grand opening of the new building of the hotel. Though being located in the big town of Shinjuku, you can relax and enjoy a meal while looking at a small garden at this hideout-like restaurant. Our recommended dishes are [Japanese Black Beef Boiled Sukiyaki Style] and [Shabu-Shabu with Sendai Beef]. Slowly enjoy these ultimate dishes with high-quality meat as part of a course, or a-la-carte. We named this dish "masakari," or broadaxe in Japanese, because the look of the bone-in steak and the naturally wild flavor of the beef brings to mind the broadaxe of a famous Japanese fairy tale hero. Because we grill the meat on a low heat, this specialty roast is served up bursting with umami (pleasant savory taste) flavor. The New Zealand cattle we use are bred in a completely natural, stress-free environment, in vast, untouched meadows that are rich in nutrients. Because our restaurant serves many dishes that are commonly known, and because the size of restaurant is not particularly small, our coordination as a team serves as our cornerstone.
