A long-established Japanese-style hotel/restaurant that overcame the tragedy of the 2011 Japan Earthquake to re-open.
Ajidokoro Kaishuu, which is also known as the Jodogahama Ryokan (Jodogahama Japanese inn) offers heart-warming hospitality and dishes not only to Tohoku locals but to regular diners from all over the country. As a long-established Japanese-style restaurant and inn for over 50 years, they have faced hardships during the 2011 Japan Earthquake, an incident that destroyed many buildings and claimed numerous lives. Despite being utterly destroyed by the earthquake, the restaurant fought to pick itself up and reopened its doors to diners in June of 2017. The restaurant kept its comfy hospitality alive, an aspect of its personality that is treasured by its patrons. Also, their dishes are served in generous portions with luxurious ingredients sourced from local produce made it more exquisite and appealing among diners. If you are coming to Tohoku, you might as well visit and see the restaurant's new look. You will surely feel Tohoku's fighting spirit through the smile of their friendly staff.

A place where healthy eating and great drinks come together
Doctors and nutritionists today emphasize the need for less sodium in the Japanese diet. However, since this makes seasoning food tricky, we have gone through a trial and error process to arrive at a low sodium solution that is delicious -- our Low-Calorie Set Meals. These health-focused meals are also great for diners without dietary restrictions. In addition to healthy eating, we also like to focus our menu on local specialties, such as our Shirayuri Pork, which is a branded pork from Kitakami with a fine texture. Also from Kitakami is the Futago-imo, a sticky tuber vegetable. Another point to note is our selection of premium spirits like Japanese sake and shochu. Regulars like the Sampler Set, where you can compare different brands. Many like a tipple with a side of our seasonal vegetables and fish. Finally, enjoying a good meal is not just about taste -- the atmosphere must be good, too. Our staff is trained to provide service with a smile, which creates a friendly, convivial atmosphere where anyone can f

Try our crisply-fried shrimp balls in our friendly, reasonably-priced restaurant
Since we are an izakaya (Japanese pub), we love Japanese, Western, and Chinese style cuisines. However, if we had to choose just one dish, it would be shrimp balls made from fish paste and minced shrimp that have been crisply fried. They are exquisite when dipped in tentsuyu (sauce for tempura). We purchase fresh seafood mainly from Iwate. Since we have been in business, we have never used frozen seafood, especially not for sashimi. Our number one goal is to hear "delicious", "reasonably priced" and "will be back" from our customers. To achieve this, we offer delicious and ample dishes with a reasonable price. We use the newest beer tap that can serve Asahi Extra Cold draft beer at a temperature of -2 to 0 degrees. Come and fully enjoy our well-chilled draft beer.
Feast on the fresh fish of Iwate prefecture to your heart's content
The concept of this store is eating your fill of fresh fish in a relaxed, unhurried manner. We recommend the "Five Assorted Sashimi (sliced raw fish) platter", which is made from carefully-selected fish from the local Sanriku Coast, Hokkaido and Miyazaki. It is a substantial meal! We put our whole heart into preparing every part of the meal properly, from the appetizers to the dessert. Our "Grilled Fresh Scallop" is very popular with customers from outside the prefecture and is served almost every day throughout the year. We feel that the best service is simply allowing the customer to eat in a relaxed, unhurried manner. Many may feel that sushi and sashimi are the best types of food for the elderly and those who come from outside the prefecture. However, at our store, we have our fresh Jimbei croquettes and a whole range of other foods that will appeal to customers of all age groups!
As a specialty shop, we pride ourselves on our selection of 19 different types of horumon (entrails.) If you like lighter flavors, we recommend ordering them with salt, and if you like richer flavors, try the sauce. At Yakiniku Teppouya, we serve only the freshest Japanese wagyu beef entrails from a specialty supplier. We're known for our juicy flavor and hearty volume. When creating our interior, we focused on a bright, comfortable design so that our customers can best enjoy their meals. We wanted our restaurant to be perfect not only for groups of friends, but families and couples as well. Our menu also has a wide variety of items such as Korean-style fried rice (bibimbap), kalbi kuppa (rice and beef soup), entrail stew, and others. Our kimchi is delivered from a specialty store.
Experience a feast for the eyes and body with our delightful Iwate Abalone while you relax in a traditional, relaxing setting in Morioka City.
We offer abalone from Iwate that is so fresh it can be eaten raw or prepared as a steak. A rich sauce made with the liver is also added to the vegetables to create a colorful appearance. I strive to create dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients and simple seasonings that bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients. You can enjoy food that is obtained locally as well as the first harvests of every season. I live by two rules: "Cold foods should be served cold" and "Hot foods should be eaten while they are still hot." I don't arrange my entrees the same way every time; I prepare a feast not only for the eyes, but for the body, as well. Our dining area is fully decorated in traditional Japanese style. The atmosphere is relaxing and allows for leisurely conversation, making it perfect for weeknight conferences and business functions. It's also great for weekend celebrations and memorial services.
