Shitamachi Shokusai Daidokoro

Asakusa/Ryogoku, Tokyo

Make our place your home away from home in Ryougoku. Don't miss happy hour from 6 to 8pm!

Made with vegetarian tofu strained for a half day to bring out a texture like Okinawan-style tofu. Usually one whole green chili pepper is used to make it red hot, but we can add up to three to make it even spicier. The goya gourds we use are mainly grown in Okinawa. They're a summer vegetable, so we only offer them on our summer seasonal menu. We stir fry our strained tofu and pork belly with a salt base. A friend tipped us off to topping them with katsuobushi-slices of dried bonito. If you're a first-time customer, rather than leaving you to linger we cheerfully chat with you and aim to get your food out right away. That's why we think you'll feel right at home in our restaurant. 6pm to 8pm is our happy hour which is extremely popular with businessmen on their way home from work on the week days. On the weekends locals and couples alike drop by to have relaxing meals.

SHOGUN BURGER Shinsaibashi Branch

Shinsaibashi, Osaka

Bite into the juices and rich flavors of the meat. Enjoy exquisite burgers made from Wagyu beef in a sophisticated restaurant.

SHOGUN BURGER Shinsaibashi Branch, located in Shinsaibashi, one of the busiest shopping areas in Osaka,  is a popular restaurant with many overseas tourists. Its greatest feature is the 100% Wagyu beef patty. The coarsely ground meat, which contains some tendon, provides an exquisite balance of flavor spreading as you bite into it and a satisfying texture. The key to the satisfying burgers is the cheddar cheese, sourced through an exclusive route, which goes well with the Wagyu beef. In the stylish restaurant, the table seating at the end of the room is especially popular, where the trademark neon sign is definitely Instagrammable. In 2022, the restaurant won the top prize at the "Japan Burger Championship" and was also ranked 6th at the "World Food Championship" held in the same year. Enjoy its authentic and exquisite hamburgers.

STEAK HIKARU

Naha, Okinawa

A restaurant where you can enjoy carefully-selected Australian wagyu (a type of high-quality beef/cattle) steak provided with your preference in taste.

Steak Hikaru specializes in beef steak made with Australian Wagyu cattle (named so because it has the genes of Japanese Wagyu cattle) grain-fed for over 400 days. During the transportation, the meat is chilled, not frozen, to keep the flavors locked in. The restaurant is not only committed to preparing high-quality steak, it is also home to the original [Hikaru Sauce] and [Onion Base], which is created by the chef himself. Choose your favorite sauce from any of the two and enjoy! Okinawans usually eat yakiniku or steak while drinking alcohol, though it can be both enjoyed with or without drinking. A lot of customers drop by the restaurant before going home from work. If you want to enjoy a high-quality steak in a tranquil environment, give this restaurant a try.

Sugita

Asakusa/Ryogoku, Tokyo

A renowned restaurant in downtown seeking for the best pork cutlet as a casual food.

We are aiming for offering a traditional delicacy that is non-eccentric yet authentic. The point is how to bring out its original taste to the maximum. Fresh domestic pork will be carefully prepared by taking off the extra fat, coating thin and fine batter without any gap between the meat, and using the lard from Holland to reveal a better aroma and richer taste. Adjusting low and high temperature oils in a pot is the key to make a perfect deep fry. Our pork cutlet is thinly-cut, however has a sophisticated savory taste. We are equipped with a plain-wooden counter that seems like reflecting the wholehearted attitude of the owner, and have a perfect atmosphere to enjoy the downtown taste.
