This was my…ahem…personal favorite of the bunch. Sorry.

Tacky? Yes, but it’s glorious pop art nonetheless. I promise you that many of the others are not quite so Andy Warhol…they may even stir your soul! The first batch of pics is really about how artificiality and color really can create something magical. Take a look for yourself!

I’ve never seen a vending machine quite like this…

…just look at the detail on that clock! Hella cool.

The fish-eyed lens makes this look like 2001: A Vending Odysee or something. But it’s eerily perfect.

There is something sad and sort of gorgeous about this photo. I just thought “Wow.”

Couldn’t have planned all the splashy blues (with a dash of orange-red!) better myself! Was this just pure accident?

Going back in time. This is actually one of the hippest parts of Japan this guy’s in here, a tribute to his photographic talent.

Those are great! Well, this next batch puts vending machines with nature and sees what happens. Let’s watch!

This is one of those photos where you look and say, “Why didn’t I think of that?” and then you realize it’s ’cause you’re not talented.

This vending machine looks like a force of nature rather than of a food company.

In Kyoto, even the vending machines are painted to blend in with the historical scenery

This just shouldn’t work…but it’s so beautiful!

Many people think of vending machines as eyesores, especially in Japan. But I hope that this little photo blog changed your opinion and made you see the art in the tackiness!
