To me, Roppongi Hills has always seemed like it is IN but not OF Japan. Maybe it’s all the foreign people who live and hang out there, giving it a flavor all it’s own. Maybe it’s that the whole thing looks like some kind of grandly constructed, insulated castle, artistic but cold. Or maybe it’s something else. Let’s take a closer look.
This looks like an old black and white horror flick spider…
…until you look at it from this angle. Nobody’s freaked–he’s just hanging out in his natural environment.
This spider is seriously weird…stand underneath and take pictures of the “eggs” he/she/it is carrying if you ever get a chance. Wild.
At best, this is a doughnut. At worst, a flying saucer come to take us away!
Or maybe it’s just a plush space where people can hang out
Roppongi Arena is really the center of it all. Just walking through it is worth it just to see all the nooks and crannies, tailor-made for picture-taking! I once spent hours here doing just that.
Mori Tower’s viewing room looks like the lobby in “Gattaca…”
…but the awesome view is anything but cold!
Seeing an exhibition at the Mori Museum is great, but visiting the sky deck there is an absolute must–the views you can get there would take up another three blogs!
