Enoshima is a small island in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. To say that it’s a paradise really isn’t doing it justice, since there’s so much to learn and discover while your enjoying yourself. I’ve been there twice and still haven’t uncovered all of it’s hidden treasures!
Catching a glimpse Mount Fuji, whether at sunrise or sunset, is just one perk of coming here. Snap lots of pics but don’t forget to enjoy the moment.
You can also explore a winding, mysterious cave with rows and rows of buddha statues, carved out in centuries passed. Traces of Enoshima’s deep buddhist history can be found all throughout the island–some are easier to spot than others.
Crowded markets contrast with quiet, picturesque bridges–everything’s connected by the beautiful red color you see here. Even the local island gods get into the spirit of things.
