7 Popular Nightclubs in Sapporo's Susuki District

Susuki is the centerpiece of Sapporo's nightlife. Famous for its bars and ramen restaurants, in recent years it has also played host to a number of large dance clubs. Why not tour Sapporo in the afternoon and then head out in the night to one of the clubs below?

1. VANITY SAPPORO

Vanity Sapporo is a dance club from the creators of V2 Tokyo, the Roppongi club that is one of the largest in all of Tokyo. The Sapporo incarnation opened in December of 2015 and is a rank above the rest in its capacity and luxury. The club is fit with the latest in lighting technology and LED screens, as well as world class sound. In addition to the main dance floor, there is also a VIP lounge and bar area. The club hosts plenty of events with carefully selected DJs and dancers, making it the ultimate in nighttime entertainment.

2. Riviera

Produced by alife Sapporo with the goal of creating a more casual, enjoyable club experience, Riviera is a sophisticated music lounge that opened in November 2013. Arrive at the doors in a suit and you'll be given a discount, while inside you'll find a generous selection of food and drinks with a classy atmosphere that adults are sure to enjoy. There are regular events, with the weekend "Rivikore" being a particular highlight. When you're finished with your meal, head over to alife, where you'll be given a discount on the entrance cover charge.

3. alife Sapporo

Opened in 2004, alife Sapporo is one of Japan's largest indoor clubs, complete with separate floors housing the main dance space, lounge, and VIP rooms. It's also popular as a spot for private parties. Major events include "Machi Okoshi," held on a single Friday every month, and "Weekend Party," held every Saturday. With many celebrity guests from Tokyo also paying a visit, it has become the center of the Sapporo club scene.

Though the Susuki area is known for hosting Sapporo's largest dance clubs, PIT opened in 2015 on Minami 3 jonishi as a diverse entertainment space. In addition to facilities for music and dancing, the club also hosts live concerts and talk events. The space itself is a former movie theater built with the spacious atmosphere of a refurbished New York warehouse. All in all, it has become one of Sapporo's coolest spots.

5. Precious Hall

Precious Hall is one of Sapporo's most well-known clubs. It sports a long history and is known for producing veteran DJs. Its main selling point is its spectacular sound system and high standards , both of which have made it popular with international DJs as one of the sacred grounds of house music. For older club fans in Japan, it is no doubt the nation's No. 1 brand name. Having just moved to a new location, the space now also plays host to tasteful events and continues to enliven the Sapporo club scene.

6. GOSSIP LOUNGE BAR

Gossip Lounge Bar is a lounge bar in Susuki with a cover charge and exclusive atmosphere. You'll feel like a celebrity in the luxurious space while still being able to enjoy food and drinks at a reasonable price. 7. Sound Lab Mole

Sound Lab Mole is a club located in the underground shopping streets below Tanuki Koji. Popular as both a dance club and concert space, it is one of the twin pillars of today's Sapporo scene, along with alife Sapporo. Famous DJs from all over Japan spin here and the dance floor is always packed. There are a lot of events too and a visit is well worth your money.
