French fries, chips, pommes frites, steak fries, wedges, deep-fried potatoes, baton potatoes ..... whatever it's called, this is an extremely popular potato dish around the world. Here in Japan it's called 'furaido poteto' (フライドポテト - Fried Potatoes) so even it means a different dish elsewhere, we'll stick to that naming in this article.
