Enoshima: a cat’s paradise
The inhabitants of Enoshima are mostly not humans. It is populated by thousands of cats which can be found in almost every corner of the island. They’re very tame as well. It is said that first number of cats were brought in from the mainland in order to limit feline populations and they were sort of ‘thrown’ away into this island. Now their populations are growing rapidly and it seems they’re the real residents of Enoshima, outnumbered humans by tenfolds or more. They’re mostly of mixed breed since they have long mixed up and reproduced.
As you can see, even though the cats of Enoshima don’t have an official “home,” they are still well-fed and look healthy. Why not visit and see for yourself?
