Best Sushi in Ikebukuro: 11 Must-Visit Kaitenzushi Restaurants

1. Katsu Midori Sushi Seibu Ikebukuro Shop (活 池袋西武店)

A restaurant chain of revolving sushi, Katsu is part of Midori Sushi, an upscale sushi eatery. It's located on the eighth floor of Ikebukuro Seibu Department Store. Good, fresh sushi are always available at reasonable price. No wonder there's an astonishingly long line of customers waiting at all times.

2. Mawashizushi Wakataka Ikebukuro Higashiguchi Honten (回し鮨若貴 池袋東口本店) *Closed

This place is one of the famous revolving sushi establishments in the area. Huge Gunkanmaki (軍艦巻き) is topped with abundant seafood toppings. Price starts from 136 yen per dish. 

3.  Daimaru Suisan Sunshine 60 Dori Shop (ダイマル水産 池袋サンシャイン60通り店)

There's always lively, almost fish market-type of cheerful atmosphere surrounding this shop serving fresh seafood from Hokkaido. Not only sushi is available but various other signature dishes of Hokkaido like Zangi (ザンギ- fried chicken) and Miso Ramen (味噌ラーメン) are also served.

If you're looking for a value for money revolving sushi in Ikebukuro, look no further. Despite the inevitable rising price in today's world,Tairyo has been pulling off to offer good 131 yen and 280 yen sushi dishes.  It's not just a cheap eatery as the skills of sushi chefs are unfaltering. 

6.Mawashizushi Wakataka Sunshine 60 Dori Shop (回し鮨 若貴 池袋サンシャイン60通り店)

This restaurant  is under the same chain as #2. It opened more recently with clean and wider space than #2. The highlight here are limited offers which take place randomly. If you're in the area and fancy some sushi, check if any offers are on to bag a bargain.

7. Heiroku Sushi Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Shop (平禄寿司 池袋西口店) *Closed

This is a budget sushi place. You can eat almost entire dishes offered within the price range of 100 yen. If you want sushi but not in a plastic box from supermarkets or convenient stores, this is a far better deal.

8. Uoyatei Seibu Ikebukuro Shop (うおや亭 池袋西武店) *Closed

Uoyatei is on the high end of the fast food version of revolving sushi market. With dishes starting from the price range of 100 yen up to 900 yen, you will be spoilt for choice. Try its sushi with fresh, seasonal seafood and you won't be disappointed by the taste either. 

9. Muten Kura Sushi Ikebukuro Higashiguchi Shop (無添くら寿司 池袋東口店)

You can't beat a generous offer of each and every dish with a price of 100 yen. Placing an order is through touch panel screen in front of you. Some interestingly unconventional sushi dishes are served together with orthodox ones.  Table seats are available if you come as a group.  Very popular among overseas visitors.
