1. Yukinoshita, Ginza 雪ノ下【銀座】*CLOSED

This popular pancake eatery in Osaka has descended in Tokyo! Yukinoshita is particular about the ingredients.  Free range eggs from Taki District, Mie, and non-pasteurized milk from Izu, Shizuoka are used for its pancakes.  They are served simply with butter and honey or with chestnut paste à la Mont Blanc (as pictured above), and like a decorative short cake with strawberries and condensed milk.  Any way they are served,  these pancakes are greatly appealing to sweet lovers.

2. West Aoyama Garden, Aoyama ウエスト青山ガーデン【青山】

If you like typical Japanese 'Hotcakes', try this place.  Hotcakes served here are fairly large and fluffy in texture. Eat with melted butter and maple syrup poured on top and you will be in heaven. Hotcakes come in two portions, making them ideal to share between friends or lovers.

Round and Thick hotcakes are the speciality of this coffee house. They are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with a generous dollop of maple syrup.  Once you try it, there's no going back - hotcakes here is so good you won't be satisfied at other places!

5. Rainbow Pancake, Jingumae レインボーパンケーキ【明治神宮前】

This place is so popular customers should brace themselves for being in the waiting line for a couple of hours or so.  Eating with plenty of macadamia nut sauce or with seasonal fruits like a fruit parfait are the most popular styles to have the pancakes here.  They may not be the traditional pancake style, but they are becoming new trends for sure.  Reservation recommended.

Hazumi has a retro, Showa-era kind of ambience. Pancake is the signature dish of this coffee shop. Its appearance is the stereotype of Japanese hotcakes.
